Why Accountability Coaching is like money in the bank…

Full Transparency. I do accountability coaching.

And so my post is absolutely biased towards it being a good thing.

My opinion on accountability coaching doesn’t come from my own services fully, though.

It comes from the fact that as an easily distracted online business owner I have used accountability coaching and all forms of accountability for my business with great success!

If productivity is worth money to you then by default Accountability Coaching will make more of it for you if it works.

And it’s ALWAYS worked for me.

Because the secret to making money, getting results and helping people in this world is to DO THINGS.

Do enough of those things and you’ll get results.

If you’re struggling to just sit down and do the work more days than not then an accountability coach is very likely to mean money in the bank!

There’s a key to success here:

You need to be the kind of person who doesn’t let other people down. My previous accountability coach, Nicole Dean, sent me to a test on this called The Four Tendencies Quiz < see it there.

I’m an “Obliger” which means when I commit to doing something to someone else then I do it.

If you’re a “Rebel” then accountability is not likely to work for you because the rebel resists outer and inner expectations.

However if you do respond well to outer expectations then accountability may be perfect for you!

Ways to do Accountability:

  • Accountability Coach – A coach is going to be by your site offering you advice, insights, help as you make a list of things you need to do and then work through getting them done. Your coach will often check in with you, help you when you feel stuck and give you new ideas you wouldn’t think of.
  • Accountability Planner – You can buy a planner and self-motivate but this is a tricky one especially if self-motivation hasn’t been working. It’s best to combine this with another method if you feel you need true accountability.
  • Accountability Partner – In my 22+ years in business I’ve had a good number of accountability partners. When the match is right it’s an awesome way to get more done!
  • Accountability Group – What if you get accountable with others doing the same? This is what I asked when I started my own accountability group challenge that I now run month after month in my community. It works!

How to do Accountability & Get Results

No matter if you have a one on one coach, do group accountability, use a planner or have an accountability partner the format of accountability is generally the same.

You check in with someone to tell them what you will work on and then you check back with them to tell them you did it.

Simple. But not always easy. This is why we get support.

Business is a roller coaster of emotions, ups and downs, wins and loses and that can take you out (of productivity or even business itself) if you’re not careful.

Having others give you another perspective and angle to KEEP working towards your goals is priceless!

How to Find an Accountability Coach

If you’re looking for a coach I would invite you to check out my services on my accountability coaching page.

If I’m not the right coach for you then I would recommend you check with people you’ve worked with in the past. I personally only hire coaches I’m very familiar with and have followed over time.

If you can’t come up with someone then also ask friends. They may know someone as well.

I realize not everyone has the budget for a coach but still wants more productivity and accountability.

If you are the kind of person who works well with your own expectations (the “Upholder”) then you might like my self-implemented Accountability Planner.

If you like to be accountable to others then I have an incredibly effective group Accountability Challenge that is only $10/month or a $95 one-time payment.

And then of course I do have the Accountability Coaching for those who want a hands-on, one on one coach by their site (I often call it a Business BFF, too).

Whatever you decide and however you decide to do it, I’m rooting for you!
