A Closed Mindset is bad for business & life.

Let’s talk about a closed mindset vs an open mindset.
Or a fixed mindset vs a growth mindset.
Or the “Be Do Have” mindset.

What it comes down to is that you can change your mind.
You can change the thoughts you think.

We have those “on the surface” thoughts that we can basically hear. They come from both our conscious mind and subconscious mind.

It’s said that most people think up to 70,000 thoughts a day and possibly as low as 6,000 thoughts a day.

That might feel very overwhelming to try to control. Our brain forms thought patterns that pop up automatically so what we can to do is retrain our brain.

This is where mindset comes in. You need to feed your brain, like a computer, new programming.

This isn’t a simple thing.
It’s not a one time thing.
Mindset is a practice, a habit and continually effort!

In my early years I did NOTHING for my own mindset.

I didn’t care about it.

I didn’t believe in it.

I thought I just had to put my head down and WOORK!

Work I did.

  • About 60 hours a week – so there was no time for self-care, relationships, anything.
  • $15 an hour – so I made very little money and didn’t even charge for most of the hours I did work.
  • For many clients who did not appreciate me – because I really wasn’t in the right mindset to appreciate myself! (I did have some amazing clients, too, though)

Things that helped my mindset:

  • Secrets of the Millionaire Mind (a book) by T. Harv Ecker
  • The 80/20 Rule
  • The Wheel of Life
  • Actual in person therapy
  • Creating proof
  • Gratitude (as simple of being happy to be alive)
